Our Purpose

As a registered charity, CCDT supports projects that benefit residents, enhance shared spaces and promote creativity, heritage and wellbeing. Through collaboration and community leadership, the Trust helps Cirencester thrive and ensures opportunities are accessible to all.

Our Aims

CCDT aims to empower individuals, groups and organisations to create positive community impact. The Trust promotes inclusion, culture, heritage, tourism and youth engagement, while supporting underserved communities. It encourages collaboration, sustainability and regeneration across Cirencester, acting as a facilitator and connector for initiatives that improve quality of life and strengthen community cohesion.

Our Story

CCDT’s recent renewal marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Trust. With a revitalised Board and stronger partnerships across the town, CCDT set out to reconnect Cirencester’s communities. From this renewed energy, CHaT emerged — a shared forum bringing cultural, heritage and tourism voices together to collaborate, exchange ideas and shape Cirencester’s future.

Our Focus

CCDT focuses on delivering and supporting projects that enrich Cirencester’s cultural identity and community experience. This includes festivals, awards, heritage improvements, environmental initiatives and creative programmes. By championing accessible events and community-led ideas, the Trust helps broaden participation, celebrate local talent and protect the town’s historic and natural assets.

Our Approach

CCDT works through partnership, transparency and community involvement. Guided by an experienced Board of Trustees, the Trust collaborates with volunteers, organisations and local authorities to develop sustainable projects. Its approach combines strategic support, practical guidance and strong governance, enabling community ideas to grow into impactful initiatives that benefit the whole town.
